“ This is located in the middle of coachella, this place has been around since I was a child. Remember coming here every weekend with my parents to pick up some chicken. The place is a little different. There is still sitting inside so you can dine in. You still have the view of the grills and staff cooking up the chicken. (Which I enjoyed watching them cook while we wait for our order). The place is still busy mostly on weekends. We stopped by yesterday afternoon, around 4pm. Staff was friendly, placed our chicken order, which you purchase a whole chicken and you get a whole chicken for free on Sundays. It was about $22 for the chicken. They give you a small pack of tortillas and 2 small salsa containers. We got our order quick. Chicken has really good flavor and cooked well. Must try if you are ever in the area! ”
“ I'm 77 years old and bought my first pollo dieta here when fishing Salton Sea as a youngster at least 30 years ago.....loved it then, and have NEVER found anyplace that has chicken as good as this. I know it's the marinade....which is in a 50-gallon barrel they marinade the chicken in--but I simply cannot figure out what that marinade is. I know there is orange and lime, and of course it may be the constant basting and movement of the chicken over charcoal burner from close to higher up over the coals on their sloping grill. There might even be tequila in it, which would burn off in the cooking processs, but not sure. I've been living in NorCal for decades now, but if I'm within 100 miles of Indio, I'm going to get Pollo Dieta. NOTHING like it, and most certainly NOT Pollo Loco. ”

The potato salad taste fresh and is just right, although the chicken size seems to shrink every time. A renovation could help the experience as from the 15+ years of visiting this place has been extremely outdated. A minor suggestion no biggie as long as my chicken is good! ”
“ This one of the best places we visit to get some good chicken. We have been coming to this spot ever since I can remember. The restaurant looks old school and it has been the same from what I remember. The place is very clean. The employees are friendly and nice. They cook their chicken on these biggo grills that you can see through the windows. The food can be pricy too. The prices start from $8 to $30 for some chicken unless you take advantage of their BOGO on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. They are still old school because they do not accepts cards, just cash. Do not forget your cash! This is the reason why I took a star away. Now let's get to the chicken. I had a 4 piece Combo plates. Boy! The chicken here is delicious! It is seasoned the right way and it's juicy and tender! It hits the spot! The combo comes with your choice of Spanish Rice, Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw and other choices. We had the Spanish Rice and Beans. The Spanish Rice is not that good in my opinion. The beans are good though! Don't forget your drink. They start from $1 to $1.89. It sucks that they do not offer refills. Overall, if you want to enjoy some juicy and tender chicken, try the Diet Chicken. You will not regret it! Oh, don't forget your cash ”
